  • Location: This property is located about 18 miles west of Albany in western Shackelford County with approximately .2 miles of State Highway 6 road frontage.
  • Size: 283.75 Acres
  • Terrain: Gently rolling terrain with some nice distant views and sandy soil. This area and terrain in very unique for Shackelford County.
  • Vegetation: Tree cover consists primarily of post oak, mesquite, and hackberrry trees. Native grasses are in good condition without grazing pressure. The front 80 acres is in coastal Bermuda mixed with large, beautiful post oaks. The 200 acres in the back portion of the property is all native wildlife habitat with a lot of shinnery.
  • Water: One stock tank is located near the highway frontage. The property immediately to the North has a 20’ water well that produced approximately 1 ½- 2 gallons per minute when it was tested in year 2000.
  • Wildlife: Hunting is excellent with big whitetails, turkey, feral hogs, dove, quail, and a variety of varmits including coyotes and bobcats. In 1997, a 12 point buck scoring 162 7/8ths was harvested from the property easily qualifying for the Texas Big Game Awards.
  • Structures: There is a nice cabin on the property in good condition with a lot of character. The cabin is great for weekend stays when traveling from the DFW metroplex to go hunting. There is no water or electricity to cabin, but current owner uses a generator to provide electricity. It may be feasible to drill a shallow water well to provide water for household use.
  • Fencing: There is a large set of pipe cattle pens and the property is cross fenced into 5 pastures and 1 trap. Fencing condition is good to poor.
